Amy Kaiser, PhD, earned an MA and M.Ed in Counseling Psychology (Columbia University) and a PhD in Behavioural Sciences (University of Toronto). Her practice in psychology is based at The Clinic on Dupont, where she counsels on issues related to stress, anxiety and depression. Her area of expertise lies in the area of health psychology. Her counseling addresses psychological issues related to genetic health (eg. testing decision, information sharing, decision making). In addition, she counsels on psychological issues related to adjusting to food allergy in the family (eg, communicating safety information, talking to children about allergy, managing risk related stress). Dr. Kaiser is an Assistant Professor of Molecular genetic and Microbiology and Public Health Sciences at the University of Toronto. In addition, she is the mother of 3 children, two of whom have severe allergies to nuts.
